Passenger rights - Montpellier Airport

+A -A

With the advent of air travel, the European Union has implemented a number of measures to ensure the rights of all air passengers.

Grouped under legislation that is applicable to all EU countries, these measures define the common rules on compensation and assistance to air passengers in certain situations.

They apply:

  • To passengers departing from an airport located in the territory of a Member State.
  • To passengers departing from an airport located in a third country to a destination in the European Union if the flight is provided by an EU air carrier.

DENIED BOARDING? CANCELLATION? LONG DELAY? LOST LUGGAGE?

The rights of passengers travelling by air include:

  • The right to information.
  • The right to compensation, or reimbursement or rerouting if the flight is cancelled, boarding is denied or there  are long delays.
  • The right to assistance.
  • The right to complain and have access to the means to seek redress.
  • The right to travel in the same conditions as other citizens if you have a disability or reduced mobility.
