Munich, city of artistic and cultural tradition

More information

Munich, the most highly visited German metropolis after Berlin. Those who discover it, will not forget it. Munich offers all the features of a superb city, and with almost 1.5 million inhabitants, it is the biggest city in Bavaria.

It is appreciated for its many monuments, its prestigious museums and its boutiques. The 18th century monuments are baroque masterpieces, while in the 19th century the city turned toward neo-classicism, as witnessed by the Königsplatz.

Munich is famous for its museums showing pictorial works, for its "biergarten" outdoor pubs that are so enjoyable in summer, its famous Hofbräuhaus beer hall, its gentle way of life and… its beer festival, the Oktoberfest.

Another of Munich’s assets, and not the least, is its exceptional setting at the foot of the Bavarian Alps. In fact the city is only an hour’s drive away from the first ski resorts.

Munich Airport offers flight connection times of just 30 minutes, which is one of the best performances internationally.

So, departing from Montpellier, the world opens up before you …via Munich.
