Montpellier Méditerranée Airport Strategy

The airport has implemented a strategy to continue up to 2015 to develop traffic and enhance the value of its property.



STRATEGY BASED ON TWO MAJOR AREAS OF TRAFFIC DEVELOPMENT



  • Consolidation of tourist flows from Northern Europe to Montpellier, initiated in 2002.

  • Creation of new routes around the Mediterranean, and especially the three countries of the Maghreb.

  • Developing direct connections between the wider agglomeration of Montpellier and other major European conurbations, with low-cost or traditional airlines.


This new focus has become a priority considering the high level of traffic on these routes, whether for "business" purposes or for tourism and leisure. Thus 6 new routes have been launched in France and Europe.


As regards property development strategy, this is primarily aimed at creating a large business park at the entrance to the airport and developing a freight and logistics area of European dimensions.
