Customs:
- Remission of customs duties on any object contained in checked baggage must be carried out by the customs authorities before this baggage is checked in (contact the airline or your travel agency for more information).
- Within the European Union, there is no limit on the value or quantity of goods purchased, and there are no intra-community border formalities. However formalities remain in force when crossing borders with third countries (not members of the EU).
- On your return to an EU country, when you go through the customs post you must declare the transported goods and pay the taxes and duties, unless you benefit from allowances (no duties or taxes to pay) on certain goods or if their value does not exceed 175 euros (90 euros for travellers aged less than 15).

- Counterfeiting: prohibited by law in France (confiscation of the goods, customs fines, legal proceedings).
- Currency: amount not limited by French legislation. Any amount (cash, securities or stocks) greater than or equal to 10 000 euros must be declared to the French customs on entering and leaving France.
