1. Explore the Maya civilization

It's unthinkable to skip this discovery during your stay in Mexico! Cancun is located on the Yucatan Peninsula, where remnants of the Maya civilization are preserved. In Cancun, you can visit the Maya Museum, which showcases ancient artifacts, as well as the El Rey archaeological site. If you don't mind a bit of travel, about 2.5 hours from Cancun is Chichén Itzá, a site where you'll be captivated by El Castillo, the famous pyramid of Kukulcán, which is one of the wonders of the world.
